YUNI
GROFF
UX Designer

About Me
I've journeyed through data analytics, marketing, technical writing, customer service, and event planning. I'm very excited to have found UX, a field that combines all I've learned and loved about data, design, and people.
Current Endeavors
Vertafore: UX Designer
After excelling as a technical writer and helping with UX content and onboarding, I was selected to join the team as a UX content designer. In addition to creating a content process and standards, I've also been designing wireframes and managing qualitative research projects.
YMG Photography: Owner
I took landscape photos as a kid to remember everywhere I lived, since my family moved a lot. As an adult, I found the support of friends and family, including the owners of an art non-profit, and an art curator. With their support, I developed a portfolio of landscape photography and started YMG Photography to sell my work. Visit yuniqueimages.com to learn more.
Denver Concert Band: Marketing Manager, Webmaster, and Board Member (Volunteer)
I joined the band as a musician in 2015, simply seeking a way to continue playing percussion after college. I was lucky to find a group of people who truly love performing, educating, and promoting instrumental music to younger generations. As a non-profit, the band ran on volunteers and survived on ticket sales, so I was eager to help their cause however I could. I began managing their social media, designing concert posters, and redesigning their website. As of September 2019, I will be on the Board of Directors.
Other Experience
Vertafore: Technical Writer
(Jan-Dec 2018)
My first role at Vertafore got me into content strategy. The technical writing team was new, so I developed processes, onboarding materials, and content standards. As I strove to make content consistent across all of our software products, I began working with the UX team, and my interest in UX sparked its first light.
Agility Solutions: Marketing Specialist, Consultant
(Sep 2015-Dec 2017)
I started at Agility Solutions as a Consultant, and after a year, progressed to Experienced Consultant. I used Microsoft Access, SQL, and Tableau to analyze telecommunications data. After almost 2 years, the company needed to rebrand, and I created the Marketing Specialist role to help with the new website, marketing materials, and branding.
Colorado State University: Event Planner/Asian Cultural Center Liasion (Aug 2014- May 2015)
Event planning is where my attention to detail thrived. I planned three times as many events as most of my peers in support of CSU's APACC (Asian Pacific American Cultural Center). I managed everything, including marketing, public relations, volunteer coordination, and budgeting. Nothing was more satisfying than attending an event and seeing everything come together for our students.
Education
Boulder Digital Arts: UI/UX Certification
(2019)
This is where I had the chance to dive into UX tools and best practices. My "Full UX Project" is from this course.
Colorado State University: Bachelor of Science, Business Administration
(2015)
I completed two focus areas in business: Marketing and Management. I also minored in English.
